I had a friend who had lung X-rays every 6 months after the removal of a melanoma of the back. 3 months after 5 years, it is clear that all reach the lungs and then the rest from there. His doctor said he wished he had put on chemotherapy, when he was a mole. Not sure it would have done the trick - my sister had breast cancer twice and each time a chemotherapy - which does not prevent damage and nothing.
