What are some procedures for auditing specialty retailers OR financial institutions? - inherent risk audit

What are the risks when considering one of these industries? What are the special procedures are used to verify a company would be in one of these industries is not a compromise "typical" audit will be used?

The FASB provides industry-specific guidance in its statement of SAS. Check their website for information furtheri. You can also get the AICPA and SEC websites for industry and examine the recent statements that the environmental impact.

In fact, used it to an internal auditor of a financial institution. It was a rewarding task. I loved it, both the discovery in the asset protection. There is much too diverse to cover here. Each internal auditor should adjust his program to its industry.

Seek ways you can contribute to the safekeeping of the assets of the company are aware of procedures and regulatory compliance. Good luck.
